We would like to introduce a case study on cold saw/cutting processing at a steel trading company. The company had a challenge of wanting to increase the yield from a single round bar, and they were looking for ways to make the blade thinner. Making the blade thinner means that the body also needs to be thinner; however, if the body is made thinner, it can lead to issues such as lateral runout and bending during cutting. [Case Study] Heat Sink Manufacturer

Significant cost reduction with an innovative blade tip shape! A case where the spacing of the heat dissipation plates was narrowed to increase the quantity.

We would like to introduce a case study on thin-profile molded chip saws and groove processing at a heat sink manufacturer. The company faced challenges where the grooves of the heat sinks being straight caused distortion in the riveting process, leading to instability in the processed parts. They also wanted to improve cooling performance by narrowing the spacing between the heat dissipation plates and increasing their quantity. To address this, they added an angle to the molded grooves of the riveting parts, stabilizing the shape of the riveting sections. By polishing with a unique special processing machine, they were able to achieve sharper angles than 45°, resulting in the ability to narrow the spacing between the heat dissipation plates and increase their quantity. Introduction to Ultra-Hard Solid Metal Saws

M.A. Tool Co., Ltd. believes that ensuring a sharp edge on cutting tools used for precision machining is the most important factor. To achieve an even sharper edge, all surfaces that make up the cutting edge of M.A. Tool's carbide solid metal saw, 'SHARP SAW-S', are finished to a grinding precision of 0.3S or less in its high-precision specifications. In resin groove machining, it is common for large, difficult-to-remove burrs to occur as the material tends to melt, making it challenging to achieve high precision. However, the SHARP SAW-S allows for very low burrs and high-precision machining. Machining thin ribs is particularly difficult due to issues like heat generation and cutting resistance, which can cause rib collapse.
